Advocacy Resources

Advocacy organizations can provide a wealth of information for the citizen advocate. Effective advocacy requires knowledge about the different legislative and regulatory processes, work with the media, and strong coalitions. These organizations offer tool kits, relevant facts and figures, strategies, advice, connections and opportunities for citizen involvement.

  • Idaho Voices for Children

    Idaho Voices for Children Link

Idaho Voices for Children was formed in November of 2004 to address the need for a coordinated statewide effort that would establish a policy agenda that would result in improved quality of life for all children and teens across Idaho. The group promotes policies that ensure each of our state's youth has an advocate and representation in the laws that protect and support them.

The Strategic Design Team for Idaho Voices for Children operates on the premise that policy makers will elevate economically stressed families with young children as a policy priority when:

    • relevant issues are understood and framed towards widely held values,

    • they are provided realistic and cost-effective solutions, and

    • there is a ground swell of public support and effective advocacy.

  • The Trust for Early Care and Education

The Trust for Early Care and Education Link

The Mission of the Trust for Early Care and Education is: To ensure that every American child, regardless of income or background, has access to a high quality pre-Kindergarten education that allows him or her to enter school ready to learn, and to begin life prepared to succeed.

    • TEE believes that a quality education is the surest route to success today, and that quality pre-K education, by well-trained professionals, is one of the best ways to put children on this path. Studies show that the benefits of high-quality pre-K become evident almost immediately and continue long after a child has entered elementary school. Not only do students with quality pre-K experience enjoy greater academic success, they are more successful in every area of their lives.
