IdahoSTARS Academic Scholarships
IdahoSTARS academic scholarships are designed to increase the level of education, reduce turnover, and increase wages within the early childhood workforce.
Scholarships are offered to child care providers working towards a certificate of early childhood education at any of the five colleges and universities in the state offering early childhood degrees.
In 1999 academic scholarships were offered through a grant funded by the J.A. and Kathryn Albertson Foundation. The T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood® Idaho Project design was based on T.E.A.C.H.® national guidelines and was administered through the Idaho Association for the Education of Young Children. Current funding continues to be provided by the Albertson's Foundation in addition to U.S. Department of Labor and Idaho Department of Health and Welfare CCBG quality money.

Academic scholarship recipients were awarded 124 scholarships in 2004.

Since 1999, T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood® Idaho has awarded over 350 scholarships.

Scholarship recipients have seen on average a 13% increase in their wages since the project began.
