Chelsea is a Boise native. She attended Seattle University and earned a bachelor’s degree in Public Administration with an emphasis on Non-Profit Leadership. Upon graduation, she worked in therapeutic child care in Seattle and then joined the Peace Corps. Chelsea served in rural Costa Rica as a Rural Community Development volunteer and then taught bilingual kindergarten at the Cloud Forest School. In 2017 Chelsea transitioned back to Boise and joined the Idaho AEYC team.

She currently serves as the Equity Director on the IdahoSTARS project. Her role is responsible for project-wide collaboration to ensure that Idaho AEYC is a culturally responsive, linguistically accessible, and trauma-informed organization. Chelsea is a passionate proponent of bilingual education and is bilingual in English and Spanish herself.
