The READ Up literacy program promotes reading as part of the daily routines by providing free books and reading activities for children birth to age 8. Parents are their children’s first and most influential teachers. Strong families include parents who are resilient, are socially connected, know how to ask for help and access resources. Reading together promotes nurturing, supportive relationships that are critical for children to develop into healthy, resilient adults.
