Early Learning Collaborative Symposium 2026

Submitted by Sheralynn Bauder on Wed, 06/24/2026 - 13:09

The Idaho Association of Education for Young Children (Idaho AEYC) hosted its annual Early Learning Collaborative (ELC) Symposium on June 12-13, bringing together educators, advocates, leaders, and community partners from across the state for two days of learning and collaboration.

This year’s theme, “From Seeds to Systems: Growing and Sustaining our ELCs,” centered on strengthening Idaho’s network of early childhood programs while establishing strong foundations in communities that will enable long term impacts and a stable early childhood system.

Parenting has never come with a manual, but in Idaho, it can come with a community of support.

Submitted by Sheralynn Bauder on Wed, 05/20/2026 - 11:22

Parenting has never come with a manual, but in Idaho, it can come with a community of support.

Parent Cafés, brought to the state by the Idaho Association for the Education of Young Children (Idaho AEYC) in partnership with Be Strong Families, are built on casual, small-group conversations. They offer physically and emotionally safe spaces for caregivers to connect, reflect, and openly discuss the real challenges and rewards of raising a family.

Idaho’s kindergarten readiness and workforce challenges share the same root — and the same solution

Submitted by Nicole Criner on Thu, 03/05/2026 - 15:58

Two major data points about Idaho surfaced recently, and together they tell a story we can no longer ignore. ReadyNation’s new analysis estimates that Idaho loses $688 million every year because parents cannot access reliable child care. Around the same time, national data showed Idaho ranking 46th in the country for kindergarten readiness. At first glance, these may seem like separate issues; one about the economy, one about education.
