Why Early Math?
Early math skills are strong predictors of long-term academic success, but math isn’t something extra to add to the day. It’s already present in block play, clean-up time, snack, songs, transitions, and outdoor exploration. When educators intentionally notice, name, and extend the math children are naturally exploring, everyday moments become powerful learning opportunities. This institute blends research with practical classroom application, helping you recognize and build children’s mathematical thinking through daily routines and interactions.
You will experience hands on learning labs that provide knowledge in:
-
Number Sense and Operations
-
Measurement, Comparing and Data
-
Geometry and Spatial Sense
-
Patterning
